For dance class you we will need to edit your own music for your assignments. Why? Well here are a few reasons:
- To shorten the song
- Cut out parts you don't like
- To mix songs or combine multiple songs into one MP3 track
- To add cool effects such as 'fade out' or to change the speed
- and of course....to remove offensive language

Which Music Editing Program Should I Use???
In order to do any of the aforementioned, you will need a music editing software program. You can use anything you want, but Audacity seems to be the most popular choice. It can be used on either a PC or a Mac (just pay attention to which version you are downloading) , it is really easy to use, and best of all, it's FREE!!!

Using Audacity to Edit Music- Step-by-Step Instructions
Audacity is quite simple to use, but to get started, it is advisable to read the Step-by-step instructions that I have posted and look on YouTube for online tutorials! There are tons to choose from to get you started. Look for: the basics, importing audio, and editing and mixing songs
The User's Manual is also very helpful [hint hint ;) ;) ]
*Useful Tip:
When editing music....ensure you have pressed the STOP button first. If you have the music 'Paused', it will not allow you to cut, delete, or add any effects!
